Field notes from the Sahyadris
A wandering record of forts, ridgelines and monsoon trails — one wild place at a time.

These hills have been walked for a thousand years. The forts are older than the borders drawn around them, the basalt older than the forts, and the monsoon older than all of it.
This is a record, not a guidebook. Every place here was reached on foot and photographed on the way through. Nothing is marked with a route you should follow — the Ghats are steep, the weather turns fast, and the best of them stay quiet precisely because nobody advertises the way in. Walk gently, take the plastic home, leave the rock as you found it.
